How to choose the right way to use heavy-duty casters
Time:May 30,2022
1. Load Capacity
The load capacity of a single heavy-duty caster is determined by its design load capacity. The load capacity of heavy-duty casters is a fundamental and key requirement for Z-type heavy-duty casters. Since actual usage conditions can vary greatly, a certain safety margin should be reserved when selecting the load capacity of heavy-duty casters. Taking the commonly used four-wheel installation of Z as an example, there are generally two methods to choose from: selecting three heavy-duty casters to bear all the weight. One of the heavy-duty casters is suspended, which is suitable for moving loaded goods or equipment, as the heavy-duty casters bear significant impacts, especially under poor ground conditions and when the total weight is large.
Select based on 120% of the total weight of the four heavy-duty casters. This method is suitable for the transportation of goods or the movement of equipment under better ground conditions, where the impact on the heavy-duty casters is smaller.
2. Site Conditions
Choose a suitable wheel material based on the actual management and living conditions of the heavy-duty casters. The wheels come into direct contact with the ground and are easily affected by various corrosive media from the ground and surrounding environment. If we choose improperly, it can significantly shorten the lifespan of the heavy-duty casters, and the working environment will also have a certain impact on the use of the wheels.
3. Rotational Flexibility
High-precision ball bearings are particularly smooth and flexible, making them especially suitable for high-quality equipment and quiet environments; high-quality DuPont engineering plastic bearings are widely adaptable to various corrosive media; exquisite needle bearings still perform well under heavy pressure; using soft rubber, polyurethane rubber, and super synthetic rubber wheels; to avoid leaving unsightly wheel marks on the ground, choose special gray rubber wheels, polyurethane wheels, super synthetic rubber, and stainless steel wheels.
4. Temperature Requirements
Severe hot and cold can cause failures in many wheels, so it is important to choose wheels suitable for the environmental temperature.
5. Others
Based on various special requirements, you can choose suitable accessories (see attachments for details). Accessories such as dust covers, sealing rings, and anti-winding covers can keep the rotating parts of the heavy-duty casters clean, preventing various fibers from entangling, allowing the heavy-duty casters to remain as flexible as before even after long-term use. Single and double braking devices effectively block the rotation and steering of the heavy-duty casters, allowing you to stop at any position.
