What is the difference between polyurethane wheels and nylon wheels?

Time:Aug 10,2022

1. Polyurethane wheels are relatively soft, have good abrasion resistance, and produce less noise; while nylon wheels are relatively hard, and their abrasion resistance is slightly different from polyurethane, for example, fabrics made of nylon are also wear-resistant.

 2. The materials of polyurethane wheels and nylon wheels are different. Polyurethane is formed by the polymerization of isocyanate (monomer) and hydroxyl compounds. Due to the presence of strongly polar carbamate groups, it is insoluble in non-polar groups and has good oil resistance, toughness, wear resistance, aging resistance, and adhesion. Different raw materials can be used to produce materials that adapt to a wide temperature range (-50 to 150°C), including elastomers, thermoplastic resins, and thermosetting resins. It is not resistant to hydrolysis at high temperatures, nor is it resistant to alkaline media. Nylon is a general term for polymers that contain amide groups in the repeating units of the macromolecular main chain. Polyamides can be obtained by the ring-opening polymerization of lactams or by the condensation of diamines and dicarboxylic acids.
